Anyone who stands up to opression and for the underdog, can take alot of crap and still fight, survivors.
The Werewolf is the symbol for Spiritual Paths. You have the soul of a wolf inside you, which makes you warm and caring to those you love.
Strengths: Protection is a number one priority, and therefore you always gaurd the ones you love and keep tight bonds with your pack mates. Loyalty is strong within yourself, and you also expect it from the ones who are close to you.
Flip Side: Even though you care for those you love deeply, if they betray you, anger races through your veins. The Werewolf, despite it's warm fun-loving personality, can also stand up for itself if need be. You would have no problem hiding your anger if something sets you off balance.
You scored as Wolf, You are
a wolf, the second oldest but the strongest of all ancient breeds. Your
quick to anger but otherwise very frindly. You would do anything for
your family and friends.
I found this while rummaging through some zip disks today. It's as good today as it was 7 years ago...
We the pagans of the world unite as one voice to proclaim our manifesto
to the world. To promote our faith as a real and true religeon, to
educate those who would come for such wisdom, and to inform the
non-pagan public of our faith so that ignorance, lies and hate be
dispelled between all our peoples pagan and non-pagan alike.
The pagans of the world must unite as one in this day in age. While we
are diverse in our many individual beliefs and traditions, we are
united as we are all followers of a pagan path. Unity is a goal we
must all strive for as we are all sons and daughters of the Lord and
Lady, weather we be Alexandrian, Gardinian, Independant Coven or
Solitary. With unity comes strength. Together we can prevent the
return of the Burning times, separate we are more easily divided and
conquored. this does not mean one must give up ones individuality, it
means one must not engage in conflict with ones brother or sister
regardless of faith. This goes true for all faiths, pagan and
non-pagan alike. We must make the strive for unity together within our
community setting an example, then spread that to our world at large.
We must proclaim our faith as a real and true religeon. Our faith has
been mared by the image portrayed by the media and the publics view of
all "New Age" faiths as little more than superstition and "trendy"
popular culture. We must be serious in our work for others to take us
seriously. One must promote the pagan path as a true and real
religeon by speaking out against those who would defame our image, by
electing officials who are educated in our path, and by public
education and the media. We have only scratched the surface as of
Samhain 2000 but we must do more and as a united movement. We are
serious about or faith, and it is time to let the world know we are.
We must give aid to all who request it. As we are non-evangelical we
must never reject anyone who comes to the pagan path. It is our
responsibility as was those who were before us to teach the path to the
next generations. We must teach with patience and understanding for
everyone on the path had to start somewhere. We must do this to
perpetuate our faith, for without the children our faith will surely
die.
Fianly we must strive for peace, understanding and
tolerance within ourselves and the world around us. We must be
tolerant of others as we would have them be tolerant of us. We must
not lash out against our oppressors, as that makes us no better than
they who opress us. We however will defend ourselves from such
oppression, for the survival of self is justified, even if it means to
take up arms against such oppression.
By these words do we
hereby proclaim this manifesto. May it be a guide and an ispiration to
all on the pagan path to strive for unity, educate the public and those
who come to our path, declare our faith a true religeon, and to always
be tolerant of all humankind.
From Greek Roots: Therios (Beast) + Anthropos (Man)
An integral connection with a(n) animal(s) that might manifest itself
mentally, spiritually, physically, or emotionally. Therianthropy is a
state of being, whereas someone believes an animal is an essential
constituent in his or her spirituality or life.
Therianthropy is the recognition and acceptance of the animal within. It makes us what we are, but more importantly who we are.
That is the definiton of therianthropy, but what is it
exactly? All I can do is tell of my experiences with the wolf
within.
I
am a therian in as such that I do have a deep connection with an
animal, in my case wolf. I even go as far as to say I am a
reincarnated wolf living, and sometimes feeling "trapped" inside a
human body. I do feel mental changes or "shifts" as they are called in
the therian community. My mentality does change to that of the wolf,
or so I beleive. While this is not exclusively indicative of therians
ingeneral, I personaly have expressed confusion and sometimes disgust
with "human" values and society. The evening news does not help my
perceptions on this matter. This is another word entirely, that is
"misanthropy".
Some therians try to hide or otherwise
contain their animal sides. I am not one of them, in fact I fully
embrace the animal within, for I AM the wolf. I cannot perfom any
ritual or spell, or do anything requiriing intense emotion withough
invoking a shift.
I should explain what a shift is before
going any further. In the community, shifting is taking on an animal
characteristics, either mentaly, spiritual, or very rarely if ever at
all, physical. The most common and the type I exerience most of the
time is the mental or M-shift. My mentality changest to that of the
wolf, I become more alert, my senses of hearing and smell seem sharper
and I am ready to pounce or hunt. I also experience what are known as
phantom shifts. This is similar to phantom limbs on amputees, where
even though a limb is not there, they feel it nonetheless. In a
therians case, they never had the tail, ears, muzzle, or whatever to
begin with, and yet they feel it is there. I have been known to couple
these experenses subconsiously. I have been known to "wag my tail" in
public places when happy or excited. My face becomes more contorted
when I am angry. My speach becomes more growly and other such
phenomina. When a shift is so intense as I can not hold back anymore,
I let out a mighty howl.
Strangely enough, I feel I am at
least half-shifted most of the time. I embrace myself so fully that
the wolf is an ever present thing. It is only during extream emotion
that I go full tilt. There are many triggers for me to shift. Anger,
rage, hatred, a feeling of being wronged, and very loud high pitched
noises and crowded places of course are all the negative triggers. (I
know, whay haven't I completely wigged out at Wal-Mart yet?) But
happiness, love, the act of love, enjoying a good rare steak and
caffeene and chocolate are all the positve triggers. The positive
triggers make me feel more like a puppy, than the "big bad wolf"
however.
Am I delusional? Perhaps. Am I simply someone
who is unhappy with his life and wants to be something other than
human? No. I am not unhappy with my life. Certainly there is room
for improvement, but I am content. Do I hate humans? Nothing could be
further from the truth. What I hate is what humanity has become. They
have become lax and self concerned with their own existance, being
ruled by the higher ups who lash at them from their "dark alcoves".
They are the sleepeers. I feel that the majority of humans have lost
something we therians have never forgotten, that we are connected to
all, and all is connected to us. The fact that we feel connected to an
animal within gives us a unique perspective that some humans are too
blind to see either because they do not care, or are forced not to
see. Therefore those who are "awakened" should help the sleepeers to
open their eyes. I know, it sounds a bit preachy and idealistic, but
it is the truth.
So for those who asked, that is what therianthropy, means to me personaly.
BTW
If you do a yahoo search on therianthropy and find the "Therian
Temple", stay away from them. It's a cult, and a scam and disdained by the therian community at large.
In truth, without deceit, certain and most veritable.
That
which is Below corresponds to that which is Above, and that which is
Above corresponds to that which is Below, to accomplish the miracles of
the One Thing. And just as all things have come from this One Thing,
from the meditation of One Mind, so do all created things originate
from this One Thing, through Transformation.
Its
father is the Sun, its mother is the Moon. The Wind carries it inits
belly; its nurse is the Earth. It is the origin of All, the
consecration of the universe; its inherent strength is perfected if it
is returned to Earth.
Seperate
the Earth from the Fire, the Subtile from the Gross, Gently and with
great Ingenuity. It rises from Earth to Heaven and descends again to
Earth, thereby combining within Itself the powers of Above and Below.
Thus
will you obtain the Glory of the Whole Universe. All Obscurity will be
clear to you. This is the greatest Force of all powers, because it
overcomes every Subtile thing and penetrates every Solid thing.
In this way was the Universe created. From this comes many wondrous applications, because this is the Pattern.
Therefore
I am called Hermes Trismegistus, having all three parts of the wisdom
of the Whole Universe. Herein have I completely explained the
Operation of the Sun.
HEY BRO HOW ARE YOU I HOPE ALL IS WELL WITH YOU AND APRIL ONE OF THESE DAYS WE WILL BE BACK ON THE EAST COAST FOR GOOD ANY WAY HOPE ALL IS WELL TAOK TO YA SOON

The Alchemy of Christmas
by Arcanus Greywolf
11/07/07
The Winter Solstice, some call it Christmas, others Chanakah, or even Yule is a holiday humans have celebrated since time immemorial. In it's most basic sence, it is a time for celebrating the return of the life giving sun. But over time this holiday has been infused with the secrets of the Western Esoteric Tradition, especialy Hermetics and Alchemy. This essay attempts to explore some of those symbols we associate with the holiday and relate them to alchemic teachings. We will explore the birth of the sun, or son as an alegory to the formulation of the Philosopher's Stone. We will also look into the colours of the season and see how they relate on the Kabalistic Tree of life. Also, does the whole "longest night" have anything to do with the Nigredo of the self and the promise of the light within?
Lets start by looking at the premises for some of the major holidays that surround the Winter Solstice. Christmas centers around the birth of Christ, the son of god. He who will save humanity from it's sins. Chanukah, is the "Feast of Lights", where the last bit of oil lasted for 8 days within the temple. In Modern Neopaganism, Yule is the time when the Oak King of the Waxing year, defeats the Holy King of the Waning Year. It is also the time of the birth of the "child of Promise" or the God of the God/Goddess duality of Neopaganism.
It would seem then that this is a time of celebrating heat, light, warmth and fire. Quite obvious when it is cold outside. But there is more than physical happening here. Is it the birth of the fire within, the rekindling of the spirit through the darkest time? Could the fact that this is the time of the longest and darkest night have something to do with it? In alchemy, the Black Phase is the beginning of the quest for the Stone. The Nigredo (or Blackness) is that which
must be removed from oour selves in order to progress. Is the solstice reminding us that even within the darkest part of our selves, lies the brightest light?
On the subject of colour, lets look at the most obvious colour scheme of Christmas, red and green. The pagans tell us that this represnts the Holly and Oak kings. But if we look at it from an alchemic viewpoint we see something else. Red is the colour of fire, green is that of earth. Again we see the light and the dark (fire is light and earth is darkness). Alchemicaly this is the begining and the end as well. It is Iron and Copper, Mars and Venus, War and Love. A pair of opposites. If we look at the Tree of Life, we see that the Sephiroth accosiated with the two(Geburah and Netzach) cross diagonaly through Tipareth, The Golden sun!
Other colours are Blue and Silver or White. While they are usualy associated with winter and ice, they are also traditional colours in Haunaka.Blue is the colour of Royalty and Silver can be the colour of the moon. But if we look at the tree again we can see that maybe that Quickiver, the metal of Mercury is the key here, as both Chesed and Hod form a diagonal line with Tipraeth, the golden center of the Tree.
Now we look at the spirital message of the season, that of the birth of the Sun or Son. We have the heavenly father and the earthly mother. This story is true for Christiantiy as well as Neo-paganism. Again we look at the Tree of Life. If we
use the tree as a hexegram and the Da'ath point as Binah or even Kether, we have our heavenly father. Use the Yesod point or even Malkuth as our earthly mother and of course they cross through that golden center again.
What am I getting at here? That the key to the Philosopher's Stone may be hidden within the traditions and symbols associated with the Modern Holiday season in all its religeons and traditions.
It gets better. If we take these criss-crossing paths on the Tree of Life that intesect with Tipareth at its center, we gget another interesting pattern.
Take the Glyphs of Jupiter(Chesed) and Mercury(Hod), you will see that they both have the cresent in common.
The Glyphs of Mars(Geburah) and Venus(Netzach) have the solar disc in common.
The Glyphs of Saturn(Binah in Da'ath) and Earth(Malkuth) have the Cross of Earth in common.
These three parts represent the 3 priciples in Alchemy. Mercury(as the cresent), Sulphur(as the disk) and Salt(as the equal armed cross)
When combined they make the glyph of Mercury, which is Trice Greatest.
So then, is this the key to the Philosopher's Stone?
Interesting how the Thrice Greatest makes his presence known. I looked at Bro. Dark's Myspace page and went ahead and viewed the "What the Bleep Do We Know" clip. I was taken in by the experiemnt in which water drops were given different energies and then frozen and the crystal patterns observed through a microscope. Bhudist chants and "happy" thoughts made pretty snowflake patterns, while negative thoughts such as "I hate you" or "I will kill you" produced a chaotic mess of a crystal. I immediately said to myself. "Holy shit! That's Alchemy in action!"
Later that same night, I watched Nova on PBS and they were detailing the Art and Science of the Samurai Sword. I knew half of this information already, how the sword was folded and polished, what I did not know was how the steel is made. The iron is "opened up" to receive the carbon and the temperature must be absolutely precise. The way the smelters do it is nothing short of amazing. These guys are alchemists in the trueist scence of the word, as are the swordsmiths and even the sword polishers. There is nothing that even comes close to the beauty and leathallity of a samurai sword. A technology developed 1000 yrs ago! again, alchemy in action.
So after all this, I decided to start my own experiments. I started with water, sending high energy"good" vibrations into it. Then another glass with bad energy. It hen had my guinea pig try both glasses and tell me the taste. The good one tasted sweet, and the bad one bitter. Success!
Now to try this on metals and spygarics. The message has been recived, O Thrice Greatest.
Not only is Alchemy the ultimate science, it is the MOTHER of all science!
